Stronger Families and Communities Strategy
National Evaluation
Questionnaires 2006
The Social Policy Research Centre, the Australian Institute of Family Studies and research advisers have been commissioned by the Commonwealth Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) to conduct the national evaluation of the Stronger Families and Communities Strategy 2004-2009. The aim of the evaluation is to see whether the Strategy has been effective in supporting children and families.
Service Users Questionnaires
The Service User Study is designed to help Communities for Children, Invest to Grow and Local Answers services assess how they are helping children and families in their community.
The questionnaires can be used as they are (PDF versions) or as a base model to be adjusted to better suit your project (Word versions).
- Part 1 (PDF 241K) - To be completed when service use begins
- Part 1 (Word 448K) - To be completed when service use begins
- Part 2 (PDF 229K) - To be completed when service use ends
- Part 2 (Word 401K) - To be completed when service use ends
Snapshot Questionnaires
This survey aims to explore how agencies in Communities for Children (CfC) sites work together. The survey has already been distributed (via post or email) to the network of agencies that provide services to children aged 0-5 years and their families in CfC areas, whether they are funded by CfC or not.

Previously, the questionnaire was in two parts - one for operational and one for strategic level managers. Now, instead of two questionnaires, the instrument and administration process have been simplified so that a single questionnaire can be used.
All surveys sent out from late May 2006 are using the single, updated questionnaire. These questionnaires can be circulated amongst managers and workers in all services for children aged 0-5 and their families in CfC sites.
Facilitating Partners who have started to distribute the old format questionnaires (operational and strategic) should continue to do so, to minimise confusion among respondents. For extra copies, please contact strongerfamilies@unsw.edu.au. This new version of the questionnaire is compatible with the data collected from the earlier version, so it doesn't matter which one you complete.
