The aim of this page is to provide access to online resources that may be useful in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents, families and communities.

• Aboriginal Early Childhood Services Support Unit (AECSSU)
  The AECSSU aims to promote the educational development of the children through provision of high quality early childhood programs.
• Aboriginal Resource and Development Services Inc
  ARDS is involved in Aboriginal community development, education and health, mainly in north-east Arnhem Land.
• Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS)
  AIATSIS provides information and conducts research about the cultures and lifestyles of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Australian Institute of Health and Welfare
  Information and statistics on the health and welfare of Indigenous Australians.
• ANTaR
  ANTaR (Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation) is an independent, national network supporting justice for Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• C&K Preschooling Professionals - Indigenous Support Unit
  C&K's Indigenous Support Unit has a range of services for Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander families.
  This includes the Dhagun-Gur Resource Library, staff educational support, committee management training and support, Caboolture Indigenous Child Care Links project, Torres Strait Childcare Development and Support Service, Torres Strait Parental & Community Involvement in Early Childhood Education Project; Parents & Learning (Hopevale) project.

• CDU Yolngu Studies
  Charles Darwin University is collaborating with Yolngu researchers on a number of projects which involve Yolngu and Western academic knowledge traditions.

• Children’s Services NSW – Aboriginal Early Childhood Services Support Unit
  Provides support for services in the Aboriginal Early Childhood sector and Aboriginal workers in mainstream services. They are a training provider to the Aboriginal Childhood sector in: program issues, cultural programs, management and policies. They provide support for mainstream services on Aboriginal issues in Early Childhood.
• Communitybuilders.nsw - Aboriginal Child, Youth and Family Strategy
  The Aboriginal Child, Youth and Family Strategy (ACYFS) focuses on better coordination and targeting of existing government and non-government resources, ensuring mainstream services are meeting the needs of Aboriginal people and testing new ways of supporting these communities.

• Early Learnings: Indigenous Community Development Projects

  Telstra Foundation Research Report, Volume 2, 2005
  These projects look at community identified solutions for the social and health problems affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.

• Indij Readers - an innovative and unique, not-for-profit company that develops and publishes contemporary, Indigenous literacy materials for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students learning to read and write.
• Indigenous Justice Clearinghouse, a national resource on Indigenous justice. The aim of the clearinghouse is to promote discussion and disseminate relevant Indigenous justice information to government policy makers and those working in the Indigenous justice field.
• Indigenous Mothers and their Babies,stralia 2001-2004, Perinatal statistics series no. 19, by Kate Leeds et al.This report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) reports that despite the perinatal death rate of babies born to Indigenous mothers declining significantly over the period 2001-2004, babies born to Indigenous mothers still had twice the neonatal death rate of other babies.
• Kulunga Research Network - Indigenous arm of the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research
  Improving the health and wellbeing of aboriginal children and their families through implementation of the findings of high quality child and maternal health research initiated, controlled and conducted by Aboriginal people.
• National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) - Aboriginal Booklets
  A series of Aboriginal Story Books highlighting community and family responsibility for children.
• NSW Aboriginal InfoNet – Families and Children
  The NSW Aboriginal Infonet is managed by the NSW Department of Aboriginal Affairs and provides information on the range of issues and services available to Aboriginal people in NSW.
• NT Government Dept of Health and Community Services - Kids Tracks Newsletter
  For all NT service providers involved in Aboriginal child and family wellbeing to network and share their stories.
• Parenting SA - Aboriginal Parent Easy Guides
  Parent Easy Guides (PEGs) bring simple, easy-to-read information on many of the issues faced by parents from birth through adolescence. The PEGs represent a valuable information source not only for parents and those caring for children, but also professionals.
• Promising practices in out-of-home care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander carers, children and young people
  The National Child Protection Clearinghouse have published two series of publications commissioned by the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs on behalf of the Australian Council of Children and Parenting.
  
  Strengths and Barriers - seven papers resulted from this project which examined the strengths and barriers to the recruitment, assessment, training and support of carers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and the strengths and barriers in the provision of services to Indigenous children in care.
  
  Profiling Promising Programs - in collaboration with the Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care (SNAICC), the Clearinghouse undertook a project to profile promising practices in the recruitment, assessment, training and support of carers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and the provision of services to Indigenous children in care.
• Queensland Government - gateway to internet resources for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Rural Health Education Foundation - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Health
  The Rural Health Education Foundation (RHEF) is Australia's pre-eminent provider of television-based health education for doctors, pharmacists, nurses and allied health professionals. A variety of resources are specifically aimed to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's health.
• Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care
  The Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care, SNAICC, is the national non government peak body in Australia representing the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
• Tips for Aboriginal Parents - Western Australian Department for Communities new
  Includes booklets, videos, tipsheets and services for Aboriginal families, organisations and workers.
• Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc – Early Childhood Sector
  Provides advice, support and assistance to all Aboriginal Early Childhood Services as well as government agencies.
• Waltja Tjutangku Palyapayi – Doing Good Work for Families
  Waltja Tjutangku Palyapayi Aboriginal Corporation is a community- based organisation, working with Aboriginal families in remote Central Australia. Waltja Tjutangku Palyapayi is Luritja for "doing good work for families" and the name encapsulates the Waltja story.
