WWW Virtual Libraries
- Aboriginal Studies World Wide Web Virtual Library (ANU) - keeps track of leading information facilities in the field of Australian Aboriginal studies. All sites are evaluated.
- Asian Studies World Wide Web Virtual Library (ANU) - a collection of 32 country/regional collections of resources and information systems concerned with social science research in Asia. All sites are evaluated.
International
- Child Rights Information Network (CRIN) - a global network of children's rights organisations seeking to support the effective exchange of information about children and their rights. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is central to CRIN's activities and the web site includes the text and documents monitoring the Convention as well as publications and Internet sites relevant to children's rights and an international database of organisations.
- Clearinghouse on International Developments in Child, Youth and Family at Columbia University - the Clearinghouse provides cross-national, comparative information about the policies, programs, benefits and services available in the advanced industrialised countries to address child, youth, and family needs. Coverage focuses on 23 advanced industrialised countries.
- International Poverty Centre (IPC), United Nations Development Programme - based in Brazil, IPC aims to promote learning and knowledge sharing on key poverty concerns among developing countries to improve the living conditions of the world's poorest citizens. Activities include joint research initiatives, training seminars, and hosting resident researchers. Statistics and online publications in the key areas of Poverty and Inequality Monitoring; Pro-Poor Growth Policies; and, Social Protection and Human Development Strategies are available from the website.
- OECD Family Database - the OECD has developed an on-line database on family outcomes and family policies with indicators for all OECD countries. The database brings together information from different OECD databases (for example, the OECD Social Expenditure database, the OECD Benefits and Wages database, or the OECD Education database, and databases maintained by other (international) organisations.
- Poverty Net - a World Bank Web site developed to provide resources for people and organisations working to understand and alleviate poverty. Features include a Poverty Monitoring database, the East Asia Social Policy Search Engine, access to reports and poverty literature, and current consultations and forums.
- Policy Library - the aim of the Policy Library is to place policy research and analysis in the public domain. The Libary has two parts: the first a database of online policy and research papers drawn from individual research institutions, think tanks and government departments; the second, in some policy areas, an attempt to place papers in context through subjective literature reviews. The focus is initially on the UK but plans are to progressively cover institutions in the English speaking world.
- Policy Pointers - an online facility created to enable those involved in government, academe and the media to gain rapid access to the research and conclusions of think tanks around the world.
- United Nations Population Information Network (POPIN) - POPIN is a decentralized community of population institutions organised into regional and national networks in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe and Northern America. POPIN's Web site includes statistical tables, software, official documentation of the International Conference on Population and Development.
- Women Watch- the United Nations Internet Gateway on the advancement and empowerment of women. Includes statistical data (ie. population, households and families, health, education, employment) by country, national and regional plans of action, and national contacts.
Australia and the Pacific
- Australian Children's Contact Services Association (ACCSA) - an independent, non-profit organisation that promotes sound analysis of the role, and limitations of children's contact services, acts as a clearinghouse for information in relation to children's contact services; and provides a network for those involved in establishing or operating children's contact services.
- Australian Clearinghouse for Youth Studies (ACYS) - provides information on the complex and wide-ranging issues that affect young people today, from early adolescence to the early adult years. Resources include: a directory of organisations and associations; programs and youth policy; research; educational courses and training; funding and sponsorship; listings of events and conferences. Publications include books and reports, the journal Youth Studies Australia and Youth Field Express, a monthly electronic Newsletter.
- Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearinghouse - Established in October 1999, the Clearinghouse is a national resource on issues of domestic and family violence. It provides a central point for the collection and dissemination of Australian domestic and family violence policy, practice and research and access to international efforts to end these forms of violence. The Web site offers access to databases of research/ resources and good practice programs, to its publications, and links to other related organisations.
- Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet - information on data sources, current research, theses, full text material, research findings and bibliographic data, courses in indigenous health, forthcoming conferences.
- Diversity Health Institute Clearinghouse - a central access point for information on multicultural health in Australia. The Clearinghouse brief covers all resources, services and activities geared toward the provision of healthcare that is sensitive to the social, cultural, linguistic, and religious values and practices of Australia's diverse population.
- Domestic Violence and Incest Resource Centre (DVIRC) - a Victorian government funded service which provides support, information and referral to survivors of domestic violence and incest, and to the workers, family and friends who support them. Services include telephone support, reference library, and resources such as pamphlets, books, and the DVIRC Newsletter.
- Early Childhood Connections - an Australian website providing links to the most up to date information for professionals from across the health, education and community-services sectors and for parents interested in the renewed emphasis on the early childhood years.
- Gay and Lesbian Health Victoria Clearinghouse - offers accessible, up to date information and resources aimed at promoting and improving the health and wellbieng of Victorian gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex people.
- Indigenous Justice Clearinghouse - the aim of the clearinghouse is to promote discussion and disseminate relevant Indigenous justice information to government policy makers and those working in the Indigenous justice field.
- InfoXchange - with the motto 'Technology for Social Justice' InfoXchange offers an extensive collection of resources for the Victorian community sector on housing, youth and community service issues, including a policy and programs collection, a real time accommodation service, a rental housing support service, a services database, a register of housing and homelessness research in progress, and an online employment service.
- Manhood Online - under the banner 'Better men for a better future' and stimulated by the work of Steve Biddulph the site offers resources for men including articles, profiles and interviews on Work and Education, Relationships, Fatherhood and Parenting, Health and Sexuality, and Spirituality, and information on men's services and support.
- Multicultural Mental Health Australia
MMHA provides national leadership in mental health and suicide prevention for Australians from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. The site offers access to resources, training and events, mental health policy, research and projects. - New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse - The New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse is a national centre for collating and disseminating information about family violence in Aotearoa New Zealand. The aim of the Clearinghouse is to provide resources for people interested in working towards the elimination of family violence.
- Relationships Australia - Australia's leading non-government provider of professional services for relationship support, the Web site focuses on relationship support and professional training and development. The site offers information on many aspects of relationships, such as enrichment and difficulties; coping with children; separation and divorce; at the workplace; relationships and gambling; violence and abuse etc and also provides a relationships advice page, and contacts and courses all over Australia.
Europe
- Childwatch Database - a database focusing on the work of European research centres and organisations on children's rights.
- Intute: Social Sciences - created by a consortium of tertiary institutions within the UK the Intute service facilitates access to quality assured, web-based resources in the social sciences which support teaching, learning and research within higher and further education.
North America
- Child and Family Canada - a collection of more than 1000 documents from 39 national and provincial organisations developed by the Canadian Child Care Federation. In French and English and covering themes such as family life, child development, parenting, child care, and social issues the site is of interest to researchers, students, child care workers, parents and others working with families and children.
- Child Welfare Information Gateway - In 2007, the National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information and the National Adoption Information Clearinghouse provided by the the US Children's Bureau, were consolidated and expanded to become the Child Welfare Information Gateway. The Gateway connects professionals and concerned citizens to timely, essential information and resources targeted to the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and families.
- Clearinghouse on International Developments in Child, Youth and Family Policies, Columbia University - the Clearinghouse provides cross-national, comparative information about the policies, programs, benefits and services available in the advanced industrialised countries to address child, youth, and family needs.

- Tufts University Child and Family Web Guide - designed primarily for parents of children from infancy to adolescence and students studying child development, this site describes and evaluates Web sites that contain research-based information about child development. Electronic Journals
- Action Research International - is a refereed, free online journal of action research. Sponsored by the Institute of Workplace Research Learning and Development (WoRLD) within the Graduate College of Management at Southern Cross University, and by Southern Cross University Press, the journal consists of an electronic discussion list to which papers can be submitted for comment. On acceptance the papers are available on a further list and on the Web site.
- Australian e-Journal for the Advancement of Mental Health - a peer reviewed electronic journal which aims to nurture and encourage understanding of mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention within a multidisciplinary forum. It is possible to be advised by email when AeJAMH issues come online.
- Australian Journals Online - The National Library's database of Australian electronic journals.
- Australian Humanities Review - AHR is a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary electronic journal, published quarterly with regular updates every two weeks.
- Brotherhood Comment - the journal of the Brotherhood of St Laurence, a Melbourne welfare agency, published three times a year. It highlights outcomes of research, analysis and campaigns, and issues of public debate.
- Child Abuse Prevention Newsletter - from the National Child Protection Clearing House focusing on child abuse prevention issues in Australia.
- Contemporary Issues in Early Childhood - an online, fully-refereed, international research journal. It provides a forum for researchers and professionals who are exploring new and alternative perspectives in their work with young children (from birth to eight years of age) and their families.
- Early Childhood Research and Practice - a biannual, peer-reviewed electronic journal with a focus on practice-related research and development associated with the care and education of children aged eight and younger. It is sponsored by the ERIC Clearinghouse on Elementary and Early Childhood Education (ERIC/EECE).
- E Law - Murdoch University Electronic Journal of Law is a general journal of law and legal issues including refereed articles on family law, children, reproductive technology and other family related issues. Contents are NetWatch, Current Developments, Materials for Comment / Works in Progress, and Refereed Articles. It is available at this web address, by email or anonymous ftp.
- Family Matters - the research journal of the Australian Institute of Family Studies - all articles from 1990 onwards are available online except for the current subscription year.
- Parity - the journal of the Council to Homeless Persons. Parity is published ten times a year and seeks to cover the whole range of issues connected with homelessness and the provision of housing and services to homeless people. Selected articles are available online.
- People and Place - published quarterly by the Australian Forum for Population Studies, People and Place presents key information on migration patterns, the labour market, urban growth, the environment and related topics. From volume 4 1996 onwards the full text articles can be accessed on the web site except for the current issue.
- Social Policy Research Centre Newsletter - the Newsletter provides a regular summary of the research activities of the Centre, notices of upcoming conferences and seminars, and book reviews.
- Sociological Research Online - published jointly by the Universities of Surrey and Stirling, Sage Publications Ltd. and the British Sociological Association. It is a refereed journal,focusing on applied sociology, and the theoretical, empirical and methodological discussions which engage with current political, cultural and intellectual topics and debate.
- Youth Field Xpress - Electronic newsletter of the National Clearinghouse for Youth Studies at the University of Tasmania providing current information relating to youth. It is also distributed by email.

- Australasian Legal Information Institute (AUSTLII)- Australasian law and international legal resources, including Commonwealth legislation and legislation from all States and Territories except Tasmania (at http://www.thelaw.tas.gov.au). AUSTLII also supports the Reconciliation and Social Justice library from the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission which offers a collection of government and nongovernment reports.

- Australian Law Online - an Australian government site providing access to law and justice related information and services from all levels of government. The objective of the site is to provide Australians with ready access to clear, understandable, user-friendly information about the Australian legal system and the government organisations that are part of the Australian legal system. There is a category Family and Relationships.
- Australian Law Reform Commission - information about current inquiries and the full text of recent reports and issues papers and links to State law reform bodies and those in other countries.
- Family Court of Australia - - information about the Court's services, costs, procedures and publications including court lists, contact details for the different registries, court judgements and links to related legal resources and publications.
- Family Law Online - the Australian Government Attorney-General's Department administers policy regarding family law through the Family Law Branch and Family Pathways Branch. The website provides information on its family law and policy programs.
- FindLaw - Australia - a free legal information service containing information for legal professionals, students, business people, and members of the public. A 'Family Law' section offers short current articles by legal practitioners on issues concerning divorce and separation; marriage and de facto relationships; children; health and aged care; and youth.
- FindLaw US - an extensive US metasite of legal content, online communities, directories and search engines. US family law is one of the main subject areas and a collection of country pages provides links to legal resources in 60+ other countries.
- Lawstuff - a project of the National Children's and Youth Law Centre. The site presents information on legal issues for Australian children and young people from primary school age upwards.
- New South Wales Commission for Children and Young People - the Commission is responsible for the safety, welfare and well-being of children in New South Wales.

- Council of European Social Science Data Archives (CESSDA) - CESSDA provides a multilingual, integrated data catalog allowing users to search up to eleven social science data catalogs located all over the world, including catalogs in Israel, Australia, the US, and Europe. In addition, the site supplies three clickable international maps that link users to the sites of 32 other data archives.
- National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect (US) - central data archive for researchers in child abuse and neglect.
- New Zealand Social Research Data Archives - NZSRDA is located in the Faculty of Social Sciences, Massey University and was established in 1992. Its purpose is to collect, clean, document and preserve computer-readable data relating to social, political and economic affairs and to make that data available for further research and analysis.
