The aims of the Neighbourhood Effects on Children’s Wellbeing project are to:
- provide evidence about the impact of neighbourhoods on children and their parents;
- explore the impact of neighbourhood disadvantage on children; and
- research risk and protective factors.
The project provides information about locational disadvantage, which is a key focus of the Australian Government’s Social Inclusion Agenda.
Further research explores how parental factors - such as mental health and parenting - mediate the effects of neighbourhood on children’s social and emotional outcomes.
