Biography

Jacqueline Stewart joined the Institute in December 2009. Much of her work at the Institute has involved research with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. She contributes to the Closing the Gap Clearinghouse, working with stakeholders to identify evidence-based research on overcoming Indigenous disadvantage. Jacqueline is also involved with the Indigenous Justice Programs Evaluation. This project will assess the effectiveness of four Indigenous youth criminal justice prevention, early intervention and diversion programs in tackling justice issues in Indigenous communities.

Jacqueline has a Master of Indigenous Studies (Honours). For this research she worked in partnership with the Wuchopperen Health Service, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled health organisation, to evaluate their model of social health care.
