Preventing child abuse and neglect: Findings from an Australian audit of prevention programs

In 1999, the National Child Protection Clearinghouse, with the support of the National Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, and the State and Territory government departments, undertook a National Audit of Child Abuse Prevention Programs operating across Australia. This report provides a description of the audit process, an overview of current Commonwealth and State/Territory policy and initiatives, and a detailed analysis of the 1814 programs collected for the Audit. For more detailed information about the individual programs, the database from the Audit is available for searching.
