INFORMATION SHEET 1 - ETHICS IN ACTION RESEARCH
Ethics can help you do action research that benefits everyone involved. To check whether your project is doing action research ethically you may ask:
Does the research address
topics of interest to everyone (who IS involved)?
Is there a shared commitment
to carrying out the research?
Can everyone involved actively
participate in any way they want to?
Is control over the research
processes evenly shared?
Does everyone involved get
as much out of it as they put in?
Are all participants equally
able to get a just response to any problem or need they may have?
Is participation voluntary?
Does everyone involved have
his or her individuality, freedom and right to privacy respected?
